ADMINISTRATION SERVICES

Upon clarifying the scope of the development to be proposed, an application must be submitted to the Ministry of Works & Utilities –Subdivisions for a New Subdivision. C-TI DEVCO, offers an administration service which involves making applications to and following up with all necessary corporations or government agencies during the design process. These corporations or government entities may include but are not limited to:

• The Ministry of Works & Utilities
• The Bahamas Electricity Corporation
• The B.E.S.T. Commission
• Batelco - B.T.C.
• The Water & Sewerage Corporation

•Water & Sewer Design
•Water Design – to consist of a water distribution layout inclusive of water services, water main, fittings, valve locations, air release valve locations, fire hydrants & blow off assemblies.
•Sewer Design – to consist of sewer collection system layout inclusive of gravity lines, manhole structure locations, lift station structures, force-main lines, sewer calculations, pump selection and sewer profiles.
•All drawings will conform to the minimum standards required by the Engineering & Planning Section of the Water & Sewerage Corporation.

CIVIL WORKS DESIGN:

•Civil Roads & Drainage Design
• C-TI DEVCO upon visiting the proposed site, will prepare an evaluation of the site to inform the developer of the site conditions for construction purposes. The objective here is to determine the soil or rock conditions, and to identify if present any unforeseen cavities which may affect the costing of the project. Once a pre-inspection of the site is done, C-TI DEVCO will then proceed with a design layout based on parameters set by the Developer (Lot sizes; Lot use; type of development). A full set of Civil Road drawings will be prepared to reflect the existing grade of the proposed road vs. the design grade of the proposed road. These drawings will conform to the minimum standards required by the Civil Design Section and the Department of Physical Planning of the Ministry of Works & Utilities.

• Electrical Design
Once the developer or the developer’s representative is in receipt of the Ministry of Works Approval In Principle letter, C-TI will then make a formal submission of the drawings to BEC for approval of works. The Electrical Design drawing set
includes:
o Proposed Electrical Layout
o Proposed Street lighting
o Trenching layout Plans
o Electrical One-Line Diagram

• Telecom Design
Once the developer or the developer’s representative is in receipt of the Ministry of Works Approval In Principle letter, C-TI will then make a formal submission of the drawings to B.T.C. for approval of works. The Telecom Design drawing set includes:
o Telephone duct & manhole layout
o Telephone cable distribution layout

MANAGEMENT SERVICES:

• Engineer of Record Services include:
o The successful completion of the design drawings in accordance with WSC standard requirements.
o Providing supervision of construction inclusive of quality assurance site inspections
o The submission of monthly progress reports showing the extent of the work completed to date.
o The submission of field reports following each inspection.
o Jointly witnessing all official test inspections along with WSC
o Coordination of all construction activities along with the corporation
o Preparation of the As-built drawings

• Site Visits
Regular quality assurance site inspections will be made each week or as deemed necessary to document and record the progress of the work done and to verify the quality of the work being produced. At the end of each month, a report will be prepared for submittal to WSC to keep them informed of the progress and quality of the work on the project.
• Testing of Utilities
All tests (Water & Sewer) must first be inspected and passed by the EOR prior to
official testing and witnessing by WSC. Once the entire infrastructure has been
installed, a hydrostatic pretest will be performed by the EOR at the request of the
Developer to confirm that water main meets minimum testing requirements of WSC. Flow & lamping tests will be done on the gravity sewer line to confirm
that the piping has been properly installed. The force main line will undergo a
pressure test to confirm its ability to function under maximum pressure and to
ensure that the line does not leak.

• Project Management
The EOR will be responsible for arranging bi-weekly project meetings with the
client and the contractors (roads, water, sewer, telecom, & electrical) to
coordinate the progress of the work. The EOR will liaise with each contractor for
the duration of the project to ensure a timely and harmonic completion of the
work.
• Consultation with Clients
The EOR will meet with the clients during the design process of the infrastructure
to give an update on the progress of the reviews by WSC. It should be noted that
WSC will only communicate with the Engineer of Record for review comments
and changes to drawings
